Week thirty seven September 9th - September 16th

Semi-ripe cuttings of evergreen conifers can be rooted in a cold frame over the next few months. Re-sow any bald patches in the lawn mixing the seed with moist compost. Check autumn colour schemes and make notes for changing over the next few months. Colchiccums can be purchased in flower at this time of the year. There's a wide choice to choose from if you send for a specialists catalogue. De Jagers of Marden, Kent TN12 9BP also have a good selection of lilies and irises.
