Week twenty eight July 8th - July 15th
Take some half ripe rose cuttings rooting them in a cold frame kept closed, leave
them undisturbed until next year potting on in spring. Self rooted roses won't
produce suckers from grafted rootstock that need continual removal. Check your
roses for suckers and tear off as near to the root as possible. Take some streptocarpus
leaf cuttings. Sow parsley. Flag irises, after flowering in the same site for
two or three years benefit from being divided and moved to a new site. Replant
in a well manured soil with the tuberous rhizomes sitting on the surface facing
south to get well baked in the sun. Water them well for the next few weeks until
they get established.
